Blake and I are very excited to announce that there will be a little boy joining our family in spring. We went in for our 20 week ultrasound last week while everyone was here in Charleston visiting. Baby boy R cooperated for the most part this time and we were able to see so much. It was really an amazing experience how far technology has come in terms of the ultrasound. The ultrasound tech, Ana, was able to look at his brain, kidney function, heart, spine, and many other things, it was great to actually see the little guy moving around. He did keep his hands by his face for the most part, but we were able to get some pretty great photos of him. Our Dr. has 4D technology so the baby is moving as you are watching, it was pretty nuts.

We celebrated Grandma Delores' birthday out on the town with dinner on Tuesday night and hadn't told anyone who was here in Charleston about the sex of the baby. Blake and I sat through dinner patiently (well, as well as one could) and waited for dessert. When dessert was brought out (which almost wasn't ordered so I chased down the waiter and ordered the creme brûlée for the table), we put in a single candle. It was blue. It took a few seconds and some prompting from Blake, but it was such a great surprise to everyone at the table, since many of them thought it would be a girl. It was a very exciting day.
We can't wait to meet our little guy in a few months!
